Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar is a British and American sitar player. She also performs music. She was among the youngest and first woman to receive a British House of Commons Shield she's had Nine Grammy Awards nominations and was the first musician of Indian of Indian descent to perform live on stage and also be a presenter for the ceremony. Anoushka Shankar is one of India's most promising stars on the sitar. She's a child of Ravi Shankar and a former student. Her birthplace was in London in 1982. She was a young girl who travelled between London as well as New Delhi. She gave her debut performance in New Delhi at the tender age of thirteen. In the following years she moved to Encinitas CA she attended high school and graduated with distinction in 1999. Anouskha still has a promising music and acting career, even though she's young. Her father was with her in many performances for several years. She released her debut album in 1998. released Anourag as her debut solo record. In 2002, she released her Grammy award-winning album Live at Carnegie Hall. Because she has performed on many of the biggest stages around all over the globe, her stage career has been expansive. In her teenage years she played at Carnegie Hall as part of Peter Gabriel's WOMAD and recorded alongside George Harrison.
